This is a recipe that I was inspired to make after watching Rachael Ray one day…
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. ground beef or turkey
- lettuce (anything you make your salads with will do)
- 2 pickles
- tomatoes
- 1 tbs. spicy mustard
- 2 tbs. red wine vinegar
- drizzle of evoo
- salt/pepper
- red onions (optional)
- anything else you usually add as a topping to your burgers
Start by mixing the ground meat with anything you usually use to make a burger. (I use grill seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, and ketchup/mustard) and form them into 7-8 small (thin) patties. Cook using a high heat (makes them crispy) on a grill or a pan with a little evoo. When meat is cooked, set aside to cool.
In the meantime, combine the lettuce with all the “burger makings” you would usually layer on top of the buns. I chop up tomatoes, pickles, and red onions and add them to the lettuce.
For the dressing: combine the mustard, salt/pepper, red wine vinegar, and stir while drizzling in the evoo. Voila! Dressing that tastes like it belongs on a hamburger!
Combine it all end enjoy!
