- 3 cups walnuts
- 20 dates
- 2/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- ¼ tsp. salt
In a food processor, blend the walnuts and the salt until the walnuts turn into a course meal. Then add the dates, cocoa powder and vanilla until the mixture balls up in the food processor. Take the ball and form it into a cake – it’s that easy! I sprinkled mine with dried coconut for a little extra yum.

This is my kind of cake! I’m totally adding dates to my grocery list as we speak so I can whip this up this weekend.
P.S. It’s nice to meet you!
Saw this from Evan’s link and I make raw choc brownies that are really similar to this, except I use a boat load of agave b/c my sweet tooth tells me to 🙂 Great job on this one…my brownies are more of a fudge (b/c of all the agave). I love how this actually still resembles a cake.
Yum 🙂
LOVE THIS!!!
Found you through Evan and so glad to have found your website. 🙂
I’ve followed the link on Evan’s blog. I couldn’t resist, this looks so delicious and easy to make. Even if raw food is often loaded with sugar (natural) and fat (nuts), it’s surely 100 times better than the regular chocolate cake I use to make. And taking only 5 minutes to prepare, there’s no excuses not to try it!
Giant LaraBar!? I have plenty of dates to try this. 🙂

I am making this tomorrow!! Along with a delicious raw chocolate frosting. It’s going to be incredible. 🙂
Cool.
I am hoping that I will be able to blend the walnuts without of food processor…I have a smallish blender that I am hoping will do the trick…fingers crossed. I’ll let you know.
