Saturday Night Pizza

IMG_5101

Pizza and Saturday night go together like college football and beer. (Actually, all four of those things go together pretty well.) That is, if you like watching football, which, I’m sorry to say – I do not. My Texas bred family is appalled, but I just can’t help it. I try to like it. I really try, but I can’t. To be honest, the same thing applies to beer.

So, I’ll stick with pizza. Food is something I can get excited about.

(I can also get excited about these monkeys, but for now, let’s stick to the pizza)

I usually use this crust, but I switched it to this crust just to see if I liked it. I did like it. But I like my usual crust better. Meeker and I are crispy crust people.

Sauce

  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 T garlic powder
  • 1 T olive oil
  • 1 t Italian seasoning
  • 1 T balsamic vinegar
  • salt to taste

Toppings

  • spinach (blanched)
  • artichoke hearts (quartered, from a can)
  • cherry tomatoes (sliced)
  • mushrooms (sliced)
  • olives (sliced)
  • mozzarella cheese

Yes, I like pizza on Saturday night. College football and beer are optional.

  1. While I’m not normally a football fan, Arkansas is playing today, so …I’m watching.

    GASP!!!!!

And I might crack open a beer.

    SECOND GASP!!!!!!!

And, I might need that pizza to appear in my facehole during the football game and pizza, or else.

    THIRD GASP!!!!!!

  2. Ohh I have never made homemade pizza before, but I really want to because i’d rather my daughter eat homemade rather than store bought if she’s going to nibble on pizza with us, you know? I should try it sometime!

Just found your blog, really like it! Your daughter is so sweet.

  3. That pizza looks awesome. My roommates and I used to have a pizza night, but we would usually do it on friday after everyone got back from classes and work to relax for the weekend.
